Video: Visiting Iguazu Falls in Brazil

Iguazu Falls waterfall in brazil

After a week in Chile, I returned to Brazil for the second time. It’s pretty cool, since rarely do I get to return so quickly to a place I visited already! I liked Brazil during the first week of my trip and now here I am, getting to return so soon. And while I’m happy to have the rest of my time here in Rio de Janeiro, I do still catch myself daydreaming from time to time of Igauzu Falls.

Iguazu Falls is phenomenal. If you are able to get to the falls, even for a day, it will have you in awe. I went expecting it to be a beautiful sight, but the whole experience was way more than that.

The falls lie on the border of Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. Most people view it from either the Argentinian or Brazilian side (sorry Paraguay).

My trip did not include the much-talked-about Argentinian side, which is evidently fantastic and takes up an entire day or more. Most of the resources I found stated that the Brazilian side pales in comparison to what you’ll see on the Argentinian side, and that may be so, but I don’t feel even one twinge of regret for not hopping over to Argentina to see the falls.

Why? Well, the biggest reason being that I’m an American citizen, requiring me to pay $160 (at the time of this writing) simply to enter Argentina, and I’d already paid the reciprocity fee for Brazil’s visa. For a short trip, it didn’t make sense money-wise or time-wise. While I like waterfalls, I don’t feel the need to spend two or more days exploring them. My guy and I wanted to visit Brazil, we were stoked at seeing the falls from the Brazilian side, and I can promise you — no matter what anyone says — they are fantastic! I mean, see for yourself:

Have you ever visited Iguazu Falls? Is this on your bucket list? What other natural wonders do you hope to see in your lifetime?

ps a guide for Iguazu Falls/Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil coming this week!
